Mars Maltage Hombo Cosmo
The name “Cosmo” refers to the high mountains of the Japanese Alps that surround the distillery. Mars Shinshu uses pure spring water to produce whisky.
This water has seeped through the granite rock bottom for centuries and is therefore rich in natural minerals. This gives the whiskey a smooth and complex taste. Just like in Scotland, the whiskey is distilled twice in Pott Stills. The whiskey matures in traditional 'warehouses'. The climate is very similar to that of the Scottish interior. Only 2% evaporates per year.
